How to please Moon/Chandra during its Dasha?

In Vedic astrology, the Moon, known as Chandra, is considered a significant planet, and its Dasha is a period of time where the Moon’s influence is particularly strong.

In Hinduism, Chandra is one of the nine celestial bodies known as the navgrahas. The navgrahas are believed to have a significant influence on human life, and are worshipped and revered in Hinduism as deities of the sky.

The moon reflects the light of the Sun and compliments its fire with its own cooling energy, signifying a peaceful state. Chandra is associated with femininity and depicts its qualities of preservation, sensitivity, calmness, fertility and nourishment. Just as the moon causes waves and tides on Earth, it heavily influences the human mind and psychology too as it takes control of emotions. It rules over the Cancer sign.

To please the Moon during its Dasha, you can consider the following tips:

  1. Worship the Moon:
    • Perform regular prayers and rituals dedicated to Lord Chandra. Offer milk, white flowers, rice, and sandalwood paste.
    • Chant the Chandra Mantra: “Om Shram Shreem Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah” regularly.
  2. Fasting:
    • Observe fasts on Mondays, especially during the waxing phase of the Moon (Shukla Paksha).
  3. Wear Moonstone:
    • Consider wearing a moonstone (a gemstone associated with the Moon) as it is believed to enhance the positive effects of the Moon.
  4. Charity and Donation:
    • Donate items associated with the Moon, such as rice, milk, white clothing, or silver, on Mondays.
  5. Moon Puja:
    • Perform special pujas or homas (fire rituals) dedicated to Chandra during the Moon Dasha.
  6. Chandra Yantra:
    • Use Chandra Yantra (a sacred geometric diagram) for meditation and worship to enhance the positive energy of the Moon.
  7. Chandra Graha Shanti:
    • If there are specific astrological issues related to the Moon in your birth chart, consult with a knowledgeable astrologer for remedies and perform Graha Shanti (pacifying rituals).
  8. Visit Moon-related Temples:
    • Visit temples dedicated to Lord Chandra and offer your prayers.
  9. Meditation and Mantras:
    • Practice meditation regularly, especially focusing on the qualities associated with the Moon, such as calmness, emotional balance, and intuition.
  10. Water-related Activities:
    • Spend time near water bodies like rivers, lakes, or the ocean. The Moon is associated with water, and being in such environments is believed to be auspicious.

In Hindu rituals and ceremonies, the navgrahas are often invoked and worshipped to seek their blessings and protection, and to seek their guidance and support in all aspects of life. It’s important to note that while these practices are based on traditional beliefs, individual experiences may vary. It’s always a good idea to consult with a knowledgeable astrologer for personalized advice based on your birth chart and specific planetary positions.
