Astrological gemstones (Navaratnas) in Vedic Astrology

In Vedic astrology, gemstones are often recommended based on the individual’s birth chart or horoscope to enhance the positive influences of specific planets or to mitigate the negative effects of others. These gemstones are known as “Navaratnas” or nine gems, each associated with a particular planet.

  4. Emerald (Panna):
    • Associated Planet: Mercury (Budha)
    • Significance: The emerald is said to improve communication skills, intellect, and analytical abilities. It is often recommended for individuals with a weak or afflicted Mercury.
  5. Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj):
    • Associated Planet: Jupiter (Guru)
    • Significance: Wearing a yellow sapphire is believed to bring wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. It is recommended for those with a weak or afflicted Jupiter.
  6. Diamond (Heera):
    • Associated Planet: Venus (Shukra)

  7. Blue Sapphire (Neelam):
    • Associated Planet: Saturn (Shani)

  8. Hessonite (Gomed):
    • Associated Planet: Rahu
    • Significance: Hessonite is said to protect against malefic influences of Rahu and enhance one’s intuition and spiritual growth.
  9. Cat’s Eye (Lehsunia):
    • Associated Planet: Ketu
    • Significance: Cat’s eye is believed to protect against the malefic effects of Ketu and enhance one’s intuition and spiritual awareness.
