Navagrahas, also known as the Nine Planets, are a group of celestial entities in Hindu astrology and mythology. These planets are believed to influence human life and are associated with specific deities.
The Navagrahas include the seven classical planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn) and two shadow planets (Rahu and Ketu). Each of these grahas (planets) is associated with a specific deity and has its own significance in astrology.
The seven names of the week are derived from the nine planets. Rahu and Ketu are not planets but the shadow nodes of the moon. 9 graha pooja’s are conducted. They are worshipped, and these planets are worshipped individually as well.
In Hindu astrology, Dasha refers to a planetary period during which a particular planet has a major influence on an individual’s life. The planetary periods are determined based on the positions of the planets in an individual’s birth chart or horoscope.
