Relationship : Lord Krushna and Pandavs

Lord Krushna is closely related to the Pandavs in the Mahabharat, and his relationship with them is complex and multifaceted.

Here are the key points of Lord Krushna’s connection to the Pandavs:

  1. Friendship with Arjun: Lord Krushna and Arjun share a deep and intimate friendship. Krushna becomes Arjun’s charioteer and guide during the Kurukshetra War. Their relationship is highlighted in the Bhagavad Gita, a conversation between Krushna and Arjun on the battlefield. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krushna imparts spiritual wisdom and guidance to Arjun, addressing his doubts and dilemmas.
  2. Cousin to the Pandavs: Krushna is related to the Pandavs and Kauravs through family ties. He is the cousin of both the Pandavs and the Kauravs, as his mother, Devaki, is the sister of Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas. Krushna’s father, Vasudev, is the brother of Kunti.
  3. Supporter of the Pandavs: Throughout the Mahabharat, Krushna supports the cause of righteousness and justice, which aligns with the Pandavs’ struggle to reclaim their kingdom. He takes on various roles, including being a messenger of peace, an advisor, and ultimately participating in the war on the side of the Pandavs.
  4. Diplomatic Efforts: Before the Kurukshetra War begins, Krushna makes several attempts to prevent the war through diplomatic means. However, when all peaceful efforts fail, he supports the Pandavs in their righteous battle against the Kauravs.
  5. Savior of Draupadi: Krushna plays a crucial role in protecting and saving Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavs, during the infamous dice game where she is humiliated. He miraculously provides her with an endless garment, saving her from public shame.

In summary, Lord Krushna is not only a family member and cousin to the Pandavs but also a pivotal figure in the Mahabharat who guides, supports, and plays a significant role in the events leading up to and during the Kurukshetra War.
