Indian Classical

Classical music from the Indian subcontinent encompassing wide spectrum of instruments and sounds that touches every nerve and stimulates every emotion.

India has a rich history of art and tradition which have given birth to many modern dances and music forms. Indian classical music particularly has shown deep new perspectives of music’s nature and abilities.
The origin is believed to have roots in sacred Vedic scriptures where music is solely related to spiritual melodies and chants. Therefore, Indian classical music strongly emphasizes the spirituality concept; it is a religious practice requiring extreme dedication and lifelong practice. Indian classical music has two major components: raga and tala. Raga refers to melody, and tala defines rhythm. Raga allows the artist to create a melodic structure with notes, while tala helps them to elevate the rhythmic structure by measuring the time cycle.
Another interesting thing about the Indian classical music form is that it has two subdivisions. One is north Indian classical, also known as Hindustani classical music, and another one is south Indian tradition that is recognized as Carnatic music. Hindustani classical music has many famous styles like Khayl, Dhrupad, Tarana, Tappa, Thumri, and Ghazal. And Carnatic music is mainly composed of certain elements like Swara, Raga, Tala, and Shruti.
With a mathematical composition of raga and tala composer uses tabla, sitar, veena, mridangam, and many more classical instruments to give a magnificent Indian classical performance.
Worldwide famous Indian classical music is nothing but a beautiful blend of nature, spirituality, and soulful art that comes right from the heart of India.
