Performing some essential pujas in the Diwali festival is equally important as family gatherings and exchanging gifts.

Diwali is a complete festival of spiritual practices and fun celebrations. Performing some essential pujas in the Diwali festival is equally important as family gatherings and exchanging gifts. This festival is about celebrating culture and remembering deeply rooted traditions of the Hindu religion.

There are a few important pujas that need to be performed during Diwali time and it varies with the different cultures. India has different communities and they all have their own listed pujas to worship deities for prosperity, health and positivity.

Preparation Of The Puja:

As per the scriptures, Diwali puja needs some prior preparation and that’s why it is a festival of a couple of days. Cleaning and decoration of the house are important to do first before the festival day. People clean their house thoroughly to worship Goddess Laxmi wholeheartedly and prepare for the other pujas.

All the rituals need ghee, flowers, Kalash, honey, mango leaves, sweets, idol or pictures of deities, Prashad and rice grains. Worshipping Goddess Laxmi, Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu and Lord Kuber is a common ritual of Diwali puja and in some regions, a special Prashad called Panchamrut is also essential to complete the puja.

In some states like Gujarat and Rajasthan, Chopda Pujan is also a very important part of Diwali puja. Various other regions in India include Chopda Pujan for small to large business owners. It is about purchasing record books for the upcoming business year and performing puja to pray for a healthy and prosperous financial year.

So according to the cultures and standard variations, people perform various pujas at the Diwali festival and offer their devotion to God to seek blessings for their family and friends.
