Just like the modern-day Holi celebration on the next day of Holika Dahan, Ranga Panchmi also involves a large gathering of people and a fun celebration of colors.
In different states, there are different customs and Vedic rituals associated with Ranga Panchmi.
Devotees from many regions celebrate this festival by worshipping Lord Krushna and Radha. In addition, they perform various cultural activities and pujas to celebrate the union of Radha Krushna and the significance of love.
Some tribal communities and Fisherfolks celebrate this day by conducting Palkhi dance and enchanting decorations.
The intriguing decorations and enthusiasm of colors are worth experiencing from Vrindavan, Mathura, Delhi, and Bihar. And every year, many northern cities of India attract a number of tourists from the globe to attend and experience this heartwarming festival of RangPanchami.
Significance of Ranga Panchami:
Most People celebrate Holi as a festival of colors in the month of April-march. And Rangpanchami arrives exactly after the five days. It has been observed that the Holi festival lasts for five days in some cities and ends with an auspicious day of RangPanchami.
Holika Dahan is about a large frame of fire that cleans the Rajasik and Tamasik particles in the air and cleans the environment with spiritual and positive energy. This religious purification is a very important day in the Hindu scriptures. It brings positive traits in the environment, leading people’s lives towards liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth.
Rangpanchami is believed to be the celebration day of the triumph of positivity over negativity, also known as Tamasik and Rajasik elements.
Panchami word also includes the ultimate five elements of the universe. The five elements: air, soil, water, fire, and space, are the core substance of the universe and everything that exists on earth, including human bodies.
So Ranga Panchami is also a joyous day where people celebrate these five elements with beautiful colors. They apply Gulal, Abil, and many other colors to each other and play with sprinkles and splashes of colorful water. This part of the celebration means evoking god and goddesses to bring prosperity and happiness to devotees’ lives.
So, in other words Ranga Panchami is an exuberant festival of colors to celebrate the victory of spiritual purification and offer prayers to all the manifest forms of one supreme being.
