Devi Mahatmya Argala

The Argala Stotram is a hymn from the Devi Mahatmya. It is recited as a prayer seeking the blessings of the goddess Durga. The term “Argala” means “bolt” or “obstruction,” and the stotram is believed to remove the obstacles in one’s life. The Argala Stotram is traditionally chanted before or after the main recitation of the Devi Mahatmya to invoke the goddess’s grace and power.

The Devi Mahatmya, also known as the Durga Saptashati or Chandi Path, is a significant Hindu religious text describing the glory and exploits of the goddess Durga. It is part of the Markandeya Purana, consisting of 700 verses (saptashati) and is divided into 13 chapters. The text is highly revered in the Shakta tradition, where the Devi (goddess) is considered the Supreme Being.
