7 Chakras

Chakras are points in a human body, through which the universal life force flows. The chakras serve as both reservoirs and points of entry and departure for the universal life force. The chakras coordinate to generate life force energy in a person who is in perfect health.

Sushumna nadi, also known as the Brahm nadi of the Kundalini system is associated with subtle energy centres known as chakras. Along the Central nervous channel, there are 7 main Kundalini chakras. They supply the mind, intellect, and bodily organs with subtle energy. Major diseases of the body could be avoided if one can detect the chakra energies. The 7 chakras not only contribute to the physical body but also the spiritual and the astral body.

What are the chakras?

Our human body consists of numerous nerves, which pass through the entire body. There are a total 114 confluences or connections of nadis (nerves). In the energy body, the nadis serve as praan pathways. These intersections are always triangular in shape. They are known as chakras because the word ‘chakra’ means ‘wheel’ or ‘circle’ and because they represent transition from one realm to another. There are 114 chakras, and only two of them are located outside the body. The 114th chakra is found on top of the head, and the 113th is in the centre of the palms. Thus, only 108 of the body’s 112 chakras are accessible. The confluence of the other four chakras is all that they are. With sixteen qualities in each of the seven dimensions, these 112 chakras assemble themselves into all those dimensions. These seven dimensions are also known as the seven chakras, which serve as the foundation of the Yog. A human being just requires twenty-one chakras in their body to be activated in order to lead a full physical and social life. Seven sets, each having three chakras operating as one, are created by the three energy realms of Pingala, Ida, and Sushumna nadi.

7 chakras and their role

Understanding the significance of each chakra in ascending order.

  1. Muladhar Chakra: Our foundation is represented by the Muladhar chakra. It rests near the bottom of the spinal cord on the human body and offers us a sense of stability. When it is open, we have trust in our capacity to overcome obstacles and thrive on our own. We feel frightened and as though we are standing on shaky ground when it is obstructed.
  2. Swadhisthan Chakra: How we interact with our emotions and other people’s emotions is influenced by the Swadhisthan chakra. It also controls sexual energy and inventiveness. People who have a blocked Swadhisthan chakra may feel uncontrollable in their life.
  3. Manipur Chakra: The Manipur chakra expresses your capacity for self-assurance and life control. A solar plexus chakra blockage may cause you to experience extreme levels of guilt and self-doubt. A person’s inner self can be expressed freely when the sacral chakras are open.
  4. Anahat Chakra: The Anahata chakra serves as a link between the top chakras, which are related to spirituality, and the lower chakras, which are related to materialism. This chakra has an impact on our capacity to love both ourselves and others. It will be challenging for someone who has a blocked Anahat chakra to fully open out to the individuals in their life. Someone can feel profound empathy and compassion if their heart is open.
  5. Vishuddh Chakra: The Vishuddh chakra governs our capacity to express our inner confidence and provides voice to the Anahat chakra. When it’s working properly, it enables us to communicate our ideas honestly and effectively. When the Vishuddh chakra is blocked, the person will experience difficulty expressing their emotions.
  6. Ajna ChakraThe Anja chakra governs our capacity for perception and intuition. It registers information that goes beyond the physical realm. We are growing closer to merging with the divine as we ascend the body. The Ajna chakra that is open is prone to visions and intuition inputs.
  7. Sahasrar Chakra: The highest chakra, the Sahasrara, is located at the top of the head and stands for our capacity for complete spiritual connection. One can attain higher consciousness only when Sahasrar chakra is open.

We are frequently instructed to pay attention to the sickness only when it causes discomfort or a physical ailment. Several contemporary medical procedures or medications may help with physical parts of a condition, but the underlying energy root of the issue is still unsolved. Hence, balancing chakras may help us to not only lead a healthy life but also help us to experience spiritual bliss. Numerous activities, such as yog, meditation, chakra healing, specific forms of therapy, and even music, can help to balance the chakras.
